During your initial consultation at our office, you will meet several members of our team. We would like to hear about your existing layout, your needs, and what you are looking to create. After we gain an understanding of what you’re looking for, we will suggest some concepts and ideas that we think makes sense for you. We will also discuss a preliminary construction budget. If all parties are on the same page, we will schedule an in-house appointment.

Our in-home visit will be with a licensed architect and one of our team members in order to take measurements (needed for your signed and sealed architectural plans) and so that we can build a 3D model of the design.

Space planning is one of the most important aspects of interior design. In a well-planned home, space is used to its utmost effect. The home’s needs and functions are taken into consideration, and any difficult spaces or problem areas are dealt with. Our goal is to accomplish this beautifully, comfortably, tastefully, and so gracefully that the placement of all the objects in the room seems obvious, yet surprising.

Rough sketches are preliminary drawings that show the essential features of the design, without the details. This is done early in the process, to make sure that everybody is on the same page. It’s much easier to move items around and switch things out during this phase, than it is later on down the line after the design has already begun to take shape.

The selections process, where we choose items such as cabinets, countertops, appliances, bathroom fixtures, and hardware must be done properly in order to make sure the final design of the home is cohesive. At Build + Design by RB, designers and construction professionals work with you throughout the entire process of your new home build or renovation to pair construction with your personal aesthetic.

Once the design drawings are complete, and all of your selections have been made, we will prepare a video walk-through of your home, where you will be able to thoroughly examine every room, from every angle. The design phase is not complete until you have viewed the video walk-through, and are 100% certain that you love every aspect of the design.

Once you have approved the design, we prepare detailed drawings and specifications, which will be used to establish actual construction costs. Construction budgets are used to anticipate all costs and expenses of the building process.

Construction documents are submitted to the applicable city & government agencies to obtain a building permit. We can provide expedited permit processing as an additional service, which streamlines the process.

Build + Design by RB will oversee all aspects of the building process, until the project is completed.
